The Public Servant Legal Plan is an affordable legal solution designed to meet the specific needs of educators, law officers, firefighters, and other government employees of any federal, state, or local governmental agency.
What’s covered? Rest easy knowing a lawyer can help you and your family with a wide range of personal legal matters including Will creation, landlord/tenant issues, real estate matters, consumer finance, traffic law, and much more (see other side for details). We also provide 24/7 access for covered emergencies.
Who’s covered? Government employees — Any employee of any federal, state, or local governmental agency acting in the course of such person's employment. This includes any employee with rights to an administrative hearing. Plan covers the employee, spouse and dependents:
• The Member
• The Member’s Spouse
• Never married Dependents under 26 years of age who are permanent residents of the Member’s household or full-time students
• Children under 18 years of age for whom the Member, or the Member’s Spouse, is the legal guardian
• Any Dependent, regardless of age, who is physically disabled or mentally incapacitated resulting in an inability to make legally binding decisions and is: a. unable to be employed. b. 51% or more financially dependent upon the Member or Member’s Spouse; and c. lives at home with the Member or Member’s Spouse

ADVICE:
Consultation on an unlimited number of personal legal matters.

24/7 EMERGENCY ASSISTANCE:
After-hours consultation for covered legal emergencies such as: if you’re arrested or detained, if you’re seriously injured, if you’re served with a warrant, or if the state tries to take your child(ren).
LETTERS AND PHONE CALLS ON YOUR BEHALF:
Available at the discretion of your Provider Lawyer.
LEGAL DOCUMENT REVIEW:
Contracts/documents up to 15 pages each
STANDARD WILL PREPARATION:
• Standard Will with yearly reviews/updates
• Other documents available: Living Will, Durable Power of Attorney
MOTOR VEHICLE SERVICES:
• Available only if member has a valid driver’s license and is driving a properly licensed personal motor vehicle
• Moving Traffic Violations
• Accidents: Help with defense for charges of manslaughter, involuntary manslaughter, negligent homicide, or vehicular homicide
• Property Damage claims up to $5,000 per claim
• Up to 2.5 hours of lawyer time per occurrence
AUDIT SERVICES:
• 3.5 hours of Pre-Trial Time for consultation and audit
representation when you are notified of an audit by the IRS.
• If your case goes to court, you’ll receive 46.5 hours of your
Provider Law Firm’s services.
• Coverage for this service begins with the tax return due April 15 of the year you enroll.

ADMINISTRATIVE & TERMINATION HEARING REPRESENTATION:
• Up to a total of ten (10) hours of legal consultation, advice, and
representation for two (2) administrative inquiries or investigations
per Membership Year limited to five (5) hours per occurrence.
• Advice, counsel, and representation for one pre-termination hearing
per year.
• Pre-trial prep work and trial representation for post-termination
hearings as described in the chart below:
